Celebrity Jewelry Auctions - Diamonds and Pigeon's Blood Rubies top trends

According to the National Jeweler, pigeon's blood ruby pieces were the top auction pieces at Sotheby's autumn sale. Leading the auction was an 88.88 carat diamond necklace and a 9.08 carat pigeon's blood ruby in a Cartier 1950s floral ring setting.

Diamonds and Jewelry featured in the sale were from Forevermark (of De Beers), Cartier, Dali Diamond, and more. The specific pieces to watch for at Sotheby's auction scheduled for Oct, 9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre are the "Riviere" necklace by Nirav Modi (totaling 36 diamonds, total weight 88.88 carats), an unmounted 20.22 carat round brilliant diamond, a 9.08 carat pigeon's blood ruby and diamond ring, and a pigeon's blood Burmese cabochon ruby and diamond "Fireworks" necklace (totaling 108.13 carats). Also look for pink and yellow natural diamonds, natural pearls and jade.
